Andrew S. Burstiner, MD, FAAP

Andrew S. Burstiner, M.D., F.A.A.P. was born and raised in New York City. Dr. Burstiner attended the prestigious Bronx High School of Science, before completing his undergraduate studies in biology at Brandeis University, where he graduated with cum laude honors and completed research work at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Dr. Burstiner attended New York Medical College earning his medical degree in 1989, and was elected into the medical honors society Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Burstiner completed his Pediatric training with internship and residency programs at North Shore University Hospital/Cornell Medical College from 1989 to 1992. Dr. Burstiner served as a hospital based teaching attending at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and JFK Medical Center, both in New Jersey, before starting a long career in general pediatric practice in Monmouth County, New Jersey, where he is fondly known as “Dr. B”. Dr. Burstiner has been board certified since 1992, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the New Jersey State Medical Society.

Over a quarter century of pediatric practice, Dr. Burstiner has melded his interest in children with ADHD challenges and neurodevelopmental difficulties, increasing his ability to assess and treat these complex disorders, with his general pediatric practice. Dr. Burstiner now looks forward to concentrating his efforts in this area with Focus-MD to better serve his patients needs.

Dr. Burstiner lives in Holmdel, NJ with his wife, having raised two children, who are now young adults. Dr. B has been active in his community as a youth coach in the local youth sports programs, and has been active with the local scouting organization and has also been a Board member for his local religious community. He also enjoys tennis, running, bicycling, photography, and traveling with his wife and family.
