Diagnosis and Treatment of ADHD in Children over age 4, Adolescents, and Adults
A Georgia native, Dr. Laurie Gillespie, attended Mercer University School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. A board certified pediatrician, she joins us after spending the last 10 years in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia where she practiced general pediatrics. While in Canada, Dr. Gillespie served on many committees and boards, including the Maternal/Child Committee at Yarmouth Regional Hospital, as well as the OB/Newborn, Emergency Medicine, and Infection Disease Control Committees at Habersham County Medical Center.
Working with patients with ADHD, as well as raising a son with ADHD and learning disabilities motivated Dr. Gillespie to focus her attention on becoming an expert in this area in order to fully benefit kids and their parents. After learning about Focus-MD’s dedication to improving the standard of care to patients with ADHD, she decided to make the move back down South to join our Daphne, AL office.
Dr. Gillespie enjoys tennis, kayaking, camping, horseback riding, and downhill skiing. She is looking forward to swapping her snow skis for water skis, now that she is back in the South!
